How did you get into graphic design?

Being that my college degree was in Communication Studies and Journalism, I have always worked in the web industry. I have held positions working in the web departments for several large media companies such as U.S. News & World Report, The Discovery Channel and The Travel Channel. During this time, I learned a lot about the back-end of the web and how websites really work.

The “design” part for me came later around the time of my own wedding in October 2008. I crafted a lot of the paper goods {programs, place cards, table numbers, etc.} myself. After that, I found myself doing the same for friends and family and loving it so much that it became more than just a hobby.

How much do you charge for invitations?

The pricing for custom stationery and invitation design really depends on the project. I’ll need to know how many invitations you need, how elaborate you would like them, the date of your event and so on. Typically, a standard, simple invitation for say a Bridal Shower, Baby Shower or 1st Birthday Party ran about $0.95 – $1.10 per invitation, depending on the details of the design. This price does not include shipping.

What about wedding invitations?

In 2014, a standard wedding invitation starts at about $4.75 for a two-layer flat panel invitation, two enclosures {ex. RSVP & Directions}, an RSVP sized envelope and an invitation envelope. Please note that the minimum invitation order is $250. There is no minimum quantity.

Do you do digital calligraphy?

Absolutely! Please request a quote for pricing due to the fact that the printing process depends on the number of invitations and what kind of envelopes you’ll need printing on.

I love this design {sends link}! Can you copy it for cheaper?

I take pride in my work and in my designs and I also respect other designers who do the same. While I can certainly take inspiration, colors, themes, etc. from other invitations and blogs, I will not blatantly copy another designer’s work and call it my own.

How long is your turnaround time?

This, again, depends on the project. Typically, a blog re-design will take anywhere from 2 – 3 weeks once it is your turn in the queue. Party invitations take about 5 – 7 days to design/finalize and then an additional two weeks for printing and shipping. Wedding invitations can take anywhere from 3 – 5 weeks once you include shipping and assembly time.

Do you do rush orders?

Yes, within reason. I cannot get you 50 birthday invitations next day, however for an expedited fee, I can design and ship invitations {not wedding}, labels, business cards, etc. directly to you within 5 days. I do not do rush orders for blog designs.

How do you take payment?

At this moment, I am only accepting PayPal transactions with the exception of wedding invitations. There is a $15 deposit for upfront for blog designs. Wedding invitations require a $150 deposit after your design is finalized. All payments must be completed before anything is shipped or installed.
